Visiting Mount Desert Island

Mount Desert Island is home to Acadia National Park, one of the most popular Parks in the United States. The Park spans over 1/3 of Mount Desert Island. From the Park Loop Road that begins in Bar Harbor and extends through Otter Creek and Seal Harbor, to Echo Lake, Long Pond and Seawall, that are located on the "quiet side" of the Island, there are beautiful sites to sea, excellent hiking trails, peaceful carriage roads, and fresh swimming lakes. This Island is a nature lover's paradise. Command Post is in the middle of it all, providing the perfect starting point each day for your journey into paradise!
